A visit to Malaga should definitely be on the program. With the train (Cercania) you can go in about 20 minutes from Torremolinos to Malaga Station Maria Zambrano. From there you can easily walk to the lively old town, the pedestrian zone at Calle Larrios, the harbor with the new pier (Muelle Uno) and the Moorish Castillo de Gibralfaro with the Alcazaba. Of course, you can discover countless other highlights in Malaga.
One of my personal highlights (because it is a bit quieter there) is a walk in Malaga Park with its tropical plants.
Due to the protected subtropical climate on the coast of Malaga, you can find many plants that are more at home in tropical regions. North of Malaga there are also many growing areas with avocados, mangos and cherimoyas

The beach promenade at Playa Bajondillo is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, taking an evening walk or jogging. You can easily walk to Los Alamos or eat in one of the many beach restaurants (chiringuitos). From Los Alamos the chiringuitos are popular and stylish clubs in the evening.
A little outside of Torremolinos in the direction of the Autovia A7 is the Jardin Botanico with the historic mill Molino de Inca. Here you can visit one of the mills that gave Torremolinos its name. Molinos in Spanish means mills (plural). Jardin Botanico Molino de Inca
Camino de los PinaresA little outside of Torremolinos in the direction of the Autovia A7 is the Jardin Botanico with the historic mill Molino de Inca. Emblematisches Gebäude
The building complex La Nogalera consists of 6 buildings by the famous architect Antonio Lamela. The architecture was a milestone for Spain in the 60s. It consists of elements of modernism and rationalism. The revolutionary of the building complex was among other things the connection between public and private space in one building complex by creating a public passage on the ground floor and large private garden and pool areas for the residents on the first floor above the street level. The Apartments where also far ahead of their time in Spain with their large windows and spacious room designs and they where sold with their own designed furniture of which you can still see some well preserved examples in the entrance areas.
La Nogalera
Plaza Costa del Sol Torremolinos has been one of my favorite places in Torremolinos since it was closed to traffic and renovated in 2018. It has been nicely upgraded by a modern pergola, urban furniture and lots of green areas. Here you can now walk relaxt or enjoy Andalusian specialties in one of the many bars and restaurants. In addition, you can often find musicians or other events there.
