Fort Macon State Park offers a gorgeous hiking trail along the ocean dunes and through the maritime forest on the sound side with smooth easy trails and amazing scenery. There is also wonderful beach access with life guards, showers, concessions and picnic shelters. Be sure to visit the historic fort!
