Years ago I worked at Quay so I'm a little biased having spent many days and nights here. It's located harbourside in the Rocks, so the position is perfect, and it has views like nowhere else of the opera house and harbour bridge. Last time I had dinner there the food was really, really lovely too.

Located Chippendale, in an architecturally interesting part of Sydney, Kensington Street Social is terrific. The space is atmospheric, being apart of an old warehouse conversion, and the menu is uncomplicated, with most dishes designed to share. We loved the flatbreads, wagu and kale greens.

The gallery is full of Australian art treasures. It also has impressive Asian and Indigenous Australian sections. One of my favourite sculptures is Brett Whitely's match sculpture 'Almost Once' which is in the gardens next to the gallery.

The Opera House is breathtaking, in fact it's one my favourite buildings. If you have the opportunity to see a show there do, it's a really special experience.

We love the botanical gardens! Gorgeous in any season it's a great place to take a picnic and spend the afternoon. The succulent garden, rose garden, ducks (and ells!) pond are really lovely. It's an easy walk from the gardens to either Lady Macquaries Chair, the Opera House or to the Art Gallery of NSW.
