This place is legendary. It's a fantastic turkish restaurant with every kind of kebab and multiple other kinds of charcoal grilled meat. There's a fierce rivalry with Mangal 1 (round the corner in Arcola Street) but we think this is best. Great value for money, always packed and frequently with some celebrity customers in the house. A nice, friendly little Italian restaurant which does great pizzas. They also deliver via Deliveroo - if you log on there you'll see hundreds of take-away options but if it's pizza you're after we reckon this place is the best.

Quirky coffee shop with used furniture and a calm, laid-back vibe. Nice staff and you can get light meals here too - think sandwiches and good breakfasts

Great park. Really nice, big playground. Skatepark. Animals.
Clissold has a nice cafe with dog free area to picnic and relax.

This is where the London Olympics were held in 2012 and it has been converted into a really fantastic park. It's enormous and many of the Olympic venues are still there and accessible, notably the aquatic centre (which is now the most spectacular municipal swimming pool you can imagine - with pools for kids as well as grown-ups) and the Velodrome where there are outdoor cycling tracks as well as the indoor banked stadium. Also a really fabulous playground which has a lovely cafe (with clean toilets!) right next door. Next to an enormous shopping centre (Westfield Stratford). Go from Dalston Kingsland and get off at Hackney Wick or Stratford (which is next to Westfield).

Conveniently located a 5 minute walk from our place. It has a playground in the middle and it's a great place to go to let kids burn off steam (or to lie around in the sun). Sometimes they have festivals here in the summer.

Get off at Gospel Oak station to be near the (unheated) Lido and a fantastic playground. Walk up Parliament Hill for the most iconic views of London. Kew Gardens is a wonderful botanical garden. A bit pricey, and about 45min away, but well worth the trip. Direct on the overground from Dalston Kingsland.

The street is lined with a range of quirky shops and coffee places which come alive along with the market on Sundays, and you're walking distance from Shoreditch where Brick Lane and Spitalfields markets also operate on Sundays. You can get here via a bus along Kingsland Road - 149, 67 or 243 and get off at Shoreditch Church. It's about a 5 minute walk from there. Or get the overground from Dalston Junction and get off at Hoxton - about an 8 min walk from there.
