Shanghai/Chinese food. Sister of the Taste of Shanghai chain. I'm still not quite sure why my mom prefers this place over Taste of Shanghai - the menu is the same. So either or - and Hurstville has both. Pan-fried baos and soup dumplings OBVIOUSLY.

Another great vietnamese bakery - closer to home. The OG pork roll is good, but isn't as mind-blowing as marrickville; but they do other protein fillings better. My favourite are the charsiu pork roll and the chicken crunchie roll.

Essential. I'm there too often. The address listed is the OG hole-in-wall joint, but they've opened a larger shopfront up the road (362 Illawarra Rd) that sells roast pork belly rolls (better quality meat/slighty higher pricepoint) - well worth it.
