Some incredible infusion of Peruvian food with some traditional "western" influence. A for sure must is the Captain Pollado, with a banana, fried egg, "a la pobre," My favourite hamburger there is the Miraflorina. Another incredible infusion dish is the Chaufa Burger, a mix of the "Chifa" of Chinese/Peruvian food with a typical "american" hamburger. Make sure you ask them to upsize your grams on the burger. The sweets are beautiful, and a strange sounding treat, but a must is the Quina Cheesecake with fruit berries. Ufff. Special treat. Another $$$ out of 5 $. The scene is attached to a beautiful shopping mall that was constructed just 3 years ago.

So, a secret that not many people know about at which I just found out 3 years ago after the over 15 years of living here, is the Isla de Las Lobos. Sea Lions living off the coast of the Callao. Yep, you don't have to travel all the way down to Paracas to visit Sea Lions, and here in the Callao, we can give you wetsuits on this guided tour where you can get in and actually swim with the sea lions. They don't bite, I promise. A once in a life time experience. A yacht will take you out, give you wetsuits, and along the way, explain the old prisons which held former terrorist members, the Military Base on the island of El Frontôn, and one of the most incredible experiences. A must.

A bit of an upscale from Plaza San Miguel, but without the Grocery Store.
