Shopping in Carmel Valley
One Paseo opened in 2019 and has a different feel than Del Mar Highlands shopping area with more relaxed outdoor seating since the parking structure is away from the shopping area. The kids love Salt and Straw and Shake Shack for ice cream and burgers. We also love the pizza at North and Urbn. Shopping for clothes or gifts is fun here too with a few high-end specialty stores & fitness classes: Lululemon, Sephora, VibeFlow yoga, pilates, Soul Cycle and a hair/color salon.
Great shopping, dining and movie theater. We love Jimbo's grocery store for organic foods and great deli items, Vuori for athletic/leisure clothing, Ceramicafe for the kids, Diesel bookstore, Philz Coffee, Snooze for breakfast and Sidecar for yummy fresh donuts. Sammy's pizza is wonderful too with outdoor dining and Panini Kebab for healthy Mediterranean style food to go is a good value for the family.

Laid back coastal beach vi-bey neighborhood with friendly people and many wonderful studios to practice yoga. Moonlight Beach is a favorite with easy access and parking.

Artsy, unique neighborhood with many good restaurants, beaches and views. We especially like Trilogy for outdoor aerial yoga and vegan food, also Dukes, Georges at the Cove, The Marine Room, Eddie V's for dinner out, shopping, gelato, walks along the Cove, kayaking, swimming and surfing at La Jolla Shores Beach. If you want a great view on a clear day drive up to Mt. Soledad which overlooks the city and La Jolla.

Re: parking in Del Mar on the streets
Be careful that you obey all signs on the streets regarding parking. The parking "maids" are historically and viciously ticketing if just an inch of your bumper is in the red area of the curb. Best time to find easy parking is early morning or after sunset if you want a spot close to the beach especially in the summer!
