The best ice cream in the world! Don't skip this one. A teeny-tiny ice cream shop with the best organic and local ice cream. This a beloved Fairfax establishment. When you're trying flavors, don't skip the Honey Vanilla Lavender!

Cozy little wine bar with great food. Nice place for a more upscale night out. We like to go there for champagne and an appetizer or two. Only a block from the Casita!

This is the best grocery store in town. Also a great place for picking up food to go and they have a nice patio for eating outside. Beautiful salad bar, hot food, pizza and delicious sandwiches are all here. If you're looking for the healthiest food option in town, this is it!

Deer Park Fire Road
Deer Park Fire RoadTrails you can get to from walking out the front door!
This is an iconic local hike that takes you up a steep ravine on stone steps and a narrow trail, crossing wooden bridges and (in the winter) gushing cascades. Best to go early before the majority of people arrive, especially on weekends.
To get there, drive up Bolinas-Fairfax road for about 10-15 minutes until you reach a lake (Alpine Lake). You'll cross a dam. Just after the dam, at a sharp bend in the road, you'll see a few parking pullouts at the trailhead. You can do this as an up-and-back hike or make a 7-mile loop. The loop is BEAUTIFUL if you have the time and energy. There's a map at the trailhead. Be sure to snap a photo of the map before you hike for reference.
