Morse park has level walking trails with beautiful views of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains. It also has basketball and tennis courts, a playground and a picnic area. The park adjoins the Lake Lure Marina where the tour boats depart.

This wonderful park was created in 2014 by the Town of Lake Lure with land conservation and trail development help from Conserving Carolina. The Buffalo Creek Loop Trail is a 3.5 mile hiking and biking loop which connects to the 10 mile Weed Patch Mountain Trail, leading to Eagle Rock. The loop trail is shared by bikers and hikers and is well marked so that hikers head in one direction and bikers in the opposite which varies on different days of the week. The hike is moderately strenuous.
Buffalo Creek Park
This wonderful park was created in 2014 by the Town of Lake Lure with land conservation and trail development help from Conserving Carolina. Be prepared for occasional snow and ice in the winter.
Check weather in advance, especially in Jan-Mar. It's helpful to have 4-wheel drive when driving in ice and/or snow.
We are located in a wooded area and occasionally you might spot a bear. We are guests in their world so to protect them and your cars, please lock your cars when not occupied, especially at night.

Booking boat rentals
If you plan on booking a boat rental with one of our local rental agencies, please first read the Town of Lake Lure Boat Regulations for non-residents on the Town's website.
Boats can be rented from the Washburn Marina or Lake Lure Adventure Company. They can also provide you with the Town's boat rental policies.
Fishing licenses are required to fish in any area waters and can be obtained online from NC Wildlife & Fisheries.
