In Alicante there is a fort called Santa Barbara. Very cool and spectacular views of Alicante and the sea. This is a nice fort to visit when going into Alicante town

The famous cliff in Calpe!
The next town north of Altea is called Calpe and has a fantastic beach but is also known for a characteristic cliff.
You can walk up to this. It goes uphill but is a good route and relatively easy route to get up. About 45 minutes hike and when you there it´s a lovely view of the surroundings.

This beach is popular for locals and I think it´s worth visit.
On this playa there is a couple of "Chiringuitos" that serves good food and drinks.
It´s possible to hire kayaks and paddle out to a little island just

At the far end of Altea bay there is a lighthouse which many people walk to during daytime, evenings and weekends. It is a very easy hike on a paved road and not a particularly high climb. The nature and surroundings are fantastic. You can take the car to Albir and park outside the nature park where the trail starts. Then the actual hike out to the lighthouse is about 30 - 40 min one way. Bring water and something to eat. There is nothing to shop along the way.

Wonderfull waterfall with cristal clear water. Here you bath in the small natural pools.
It could be much peoples during high season but when you entered there is good space into the park areas. Worth knowing is that there are many stairs to climb up to next levels. It´s worth visit!

Playgrounds
The playgrounds may not be the best but the ones I would recommend are all on the beach. There is one on "Playa Roda" this is located directly below our apartment.
Also there is playground’s at the new beachfront area in Altea.

Local Market

Cosy lounge place along the beachfront. This is a located towards Albir and is a really nice place to have breakfast at after a walk along the beachfront.
They have also lovely bowls with fresh fruits and yougurt.

Portosenso bar
One of our favorite restaurants. Porto Senso is a small marina located about 5-10 minutes drive from Altea. We have only had lunch but are certainly spectacular in the evening. The restaurant is located at the far end of the pier and you almost sit in the sea and eat. Reserve a table!

One of our favorite restaurants (adults) Good food, great service, reasonable prices and movie theme. Located 5 minutes walk from the apartment by the church and the pedestrian zone but has a cozy courtyard. Reserve a table! https://oustau.es/

Very nice restaurant with something for everyone. Located in the middle of the pedestrian zone in the old town.
