This is the last rainforest in Sri Lanka and you will find a large population of birds. However, it is best to either go early morning or if you stay the night late afternoon to truly enjoy the sights. Make sure that you bring some long socks as you can find leeches here.

Furthermore, you will find the Elephant Transit House where orphaned elephant babies are rehabilitated until their are strong enough to be set out into the wild again. There are different time you can visit and watch the feeding of the babies. Truly a cute sight.

If you are looking to do a 1 night trip away from the villa this is a great national park to go to. Here you will find some elephant herds roaming around in their natural habitat. Furthermore, you will find the Elephant Transit House where orphaned elephant babies are rehabilitated until their are strong enough to be set out into the wild again. There are different time you can visit and watch the feeding of the babies. Truly a cute sight.
