Wrap up warm as you are right next to the North Sea. It is a beautiful beach, has an amusement park, cafes, restaurants, take a walk round the old part of Aberdeen, Footdee (pronounced Fittee). Quaint, sits at the mouth of the harbour from where you can watch the huge ships sailing in and out.

Balmedie Beach is a little further north than Aberdeen beach ~ 5 miles. Part of it is a nature reserve. It has parking and wooden walkways to take you over the dunes to the waterfront. Wheelchair friendly and has a little Visitor Centre and toilets. Stunning golden sand dunes and well worth a visit.

Balmedie Beach is a little further north than Aberdeen beach ~ 5 miles. Part of it is a nature reserve. It has parking and wooden walkways to take you over the dunes to the waterfront. Wheelchair friendly and has a little Visitor Centre and toilets. Stunning golden sand dunes and well worth a visit.
A centry bunker which sits just behind the sand dunes on Balmedie Beach. This is a popular spot for BBQ's and picnics with wooden tables and chairs set into the ground. A popular place for kites and hand gliders.

Stonehaven is a town by the sea with it's own harbour and still an active fishing port. It is located ~15 miles south of Aberdeen, about a 20 minute car journey and well worth a visit. It has an outdoor Olympic sized swimming pool filled with seawater. It is very old and is well maintained.

Tyrebagger wood is breathtaking and a lovely country walk. There are a number of unusual sculptures in the woods which are not that obvious so a bit of fun to try and find them.
