Good menu with realistic pricing. Lunch and dinner with beer and wine. Check hours but open all afternoon many days so you can dine early and do more exploring.

Exquisite Food. Have not had a bad meal. Highly recommend the Oso Buco at dinner. Sweet Potato Fries are to die for.

“The Poinsett Bridge is the oldest bridge in South Carolina, and possibly the southeastern US. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1820, it was named after Joel R. Poinsett (former US ambassador to Mexico). It is the centerpiece for one of our Heritage Preserves in the area, with 120 acres and a hiking/nature trail to explore. Historians believe that it was designed by Robert Mills (architect for the Washington Monument). Great for hiking/walking and especially for photos!”

“This one is a bit out there, but it is a cool place to see. Way up north of T.R. is this gorgeous red covered bridge, one of the last of its kind. There is a creek running under it, lots of parking, and big field for a picnic. It’s also an incredibly popular place for pictures.”

“Jones Gap State Park is one of our favorites. It is quiet and tucked away and has limited parking due to preserving some native species of plants. That being said, you really need to get their early so that you don’t have to literally wait in line ((in your car, for a while)) for parking. If you can make it in though, you’ll be greeted with several breathtaking trail options. The Jones Gap trail is one way and connects you to Table Rock. Some people just take it down a ways, see a bit of the falls, and turn around. Our favorite trail is Rainbow falls. It is not nearly as strenuous as Table Rock, but is quite steep in places, the waterfall at the end is absolutely gorgeous and makes it all worthwhile! And the trip down the mountain is a cinch. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, the Rim of the Gap trail presents some technical elements and tight edges. It’s one my husband enjoys doing for guy weekends :). In addition to trails, Jones Gap has great camping sites and amazing trout fishing. Entrance fee is the same as Table Rock State Park.”
