Johnny’s BBQ first opened in Gainesville GA in 1990. Johnny and Deborah Mallard were the original owners. Tharpe and Judy Ward purchased the business in the spring of 1995 and continued the tradition of served Gainesville and North Georgia for 25 years until their much-deserved retirement in 2019. Johnny’s was then acquired by Tharpe and Judys nephew/employee of 20 years Zack and Nikki Ivey who are devoted to continue the tradition of serving Gainesville and North Georgia delicious BBQ. We offer eat dine in, carry out and deliveries when available. We smoke fresh pork, beef, chicken ribs and wings daily with Hickory. We also serve great sides like Brunswick stew, Coleslaw, Baked beans, chips, and hot crinkle-cut fries.
