Långe Jan is the southern lighthouse; the tallest in Sweden. Getting there you drive through the swedish kings hunting grounds. You might catch a glimse of the beautiful deer. You will defineatly see hundereds of cows and sheep - and might have to stop your car and let them cross the street; they roam free on the southern tip of Öland. The nature is harch and beautiful. Seals rest on the rocky coastline and hundereds of different birds fill the skies.

South point of Öland, great nature and a good spot for birdspotting. If you got a day over, visit this place.

Welcome to Sweden's highest lighthouse! With a height of 42 meters, Långe Jan is the country's tallest lighthouse. 197 steps lead up to the top and the view of the Baltic Sea and southern Öland is overwhelming! A visit here is appreciated by both adults and children and is ranked on Tripadvisor as one of the island's top attractions! The lighthouse is owned by the Swedish Maritime Administration and staffed by BirdLife Sweden. The proceeds go to the operations at Ottenby bird station. In other words, your visit to the lighthouse is a significant support for the work with protection and research on our migratory birds.
