This is our favorite metro park. We love to ride our bikes on the biking/hiking path . It's called The Towpath Trail and follows the remains of the Miami and Erie Canal along the old towpath where mules towed flat-bottom boats along the waterway. ( on the weekends, they sometimes have re-enactments with a flat-bottom boat & mules) It's 18 miles round trip through three parks of mostly wooded areas. Much of the trail runs parallel to the Maumee River. Very shady and not too hot on warmer summer days...if you start out early. Located in Waterville, Ohio...about 20 miles from Bee1.
