This is my favorite hike. In the spring, one may hear avalanches as snow melts in the mountains. Numerous photo ops!!!

4.5 mile hike roundtrip [beautiful views of the lake and Baring Mountain, and spots around the lake to enjoy a picnic] *Distance from cabin: 30 minute drive *Rating: Easy (minimal elevation gain, great beginners hike for the whole family!)

4.4mi roundtrip, 500ft elevation gain. A pretty hike through older forest to a lake. NW Forest Pass required (can get day passes online or get an annual pass from Fred Meyer in Monroe on your way out to the cabin).
