And of course there’s Pikes Peak. A new visitor center on top is being constructed, so if you drive up, you will take a shuttle from Mile Marker 16. It is a pay tollway, and the fee is $15 per person or $50 carload in the peak season. More info at pikespeak.us.com. Also, you can hike up from the…
The drive up this mountain and back down usually takes the majority of a half day, especially if you stop for some famous hot doughnuts. If you are from a much lower elevation I would strongly recomend putting this towards the end of your stay as most tend to struggle aout 8k elevation.
America's Mountain is a must see...but bring a sweater or light jacket. At 14,110 feet above sea level, is gets chilly!
Stunning views and hikes 14,115-foot fourteener is located in Pike National Forest, 12 miles west of downtown Colorado Springs
Absolutely breathtaking! (Even though it is under construction). Plan to spend 4-6 hours making it to the top. A shuttle will take you to the top weather permitting. Best to go first thing in the morning when there is less tourist traffic.
Beautiful & superb altitude! Great little gift shop & some eats. Excellent place for Big Foot sightings as well!
Drive all the way up to the top (14,000 feet high!). Amazing views. Check out Catamount Reservoir on your way down.

“This is a must-see during your visit to Colorado Springs! If you have only a short amount of time, you can drive through the park, but if you can allow a few hours, there are many places to park, walk and hike so you can see the beautiful rocks up close! Stop by the Trading Post for unique-to-Colorado gifts and to grab a bite to eat.”

“Original Capitol of the Colorado territory in the 1960's, Old Colorado City is truly the cultural heart of the city. Colorado Avenue has been transformed into an art district with great restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The best places to shop and dine exist on Colorado Avenue between 23rd and 31st streets. ”

“Located at 6,800 feet above sea level, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers breathtaking views of the city and of its 750 animals. The unique design of the Zoo's animal exhibits gets guests closer than ever before. Hand-feed one of the largest reticulated giraffe herds in the world, watch grizzlies swim with trout, hop next to red-necked wallabies and get hands-on with some of the Zoo's smaller residents in The Loft.”
