This neighborhood encompasses one of our favorite strips of bars all walkable to one another. For a night out on the town, check out Saturn Bar, Hi Ho Lounge or Kajuns, to name a few of our favorites. Frequented by hip young locals, this street is a good way to spend a Saturday night.

Lots of bars and restaurants in this area in the bywater. Tends to be heavy in hipsters.

Bus #88 picks up along St. Claude and goes to Canal Street and back. There is a stop at Louisa Street just around the corner.

Clothing Store
“This is a truly odd women's clothing store, in that at first, you may want to bolt. It's strongly perfumed, and packed to the brim. However, if you're searching for an incredible flapper dress, a full-length cashmere robe, an evening gown that can be described as nothing less than an art piece, or a hat fit for the Kentucky Derby (literally, they ship them), stop in here. Just beware that it is pricey, but at the same time, matchless. And Ms. Yvonne is a fascinating little relic of old New Orleans to chat with. Plus, it's a short walk from home!”

“FUSION FOOD. The chef at LUVI mixes Japanese flavors with Chinese street fare to result in an unforgettable and personable dining experience. With a combination of hot fusion tapa style dishes and a creative raw bar, LUVI is sure to satisfy. Created within the last year this restaurant might not yet be on any tourist list, but we highly recommend giving it a try. ”

“Stroll through the 8 block corridor of the Freret Street district for cocktails (Cure and others), a music club, some shops, and, above all, but it is mostly known for its many places to dine or just get a quick bite to eat. We go there frequently in the evening for scrumptious gelato, making up for the indulgence by walking there and back. From sushi to bagels - there is something for everyone. We are happy to have it in our neighborhood and think you will enjoy it too. ps if you are here on the first Saturday of the month, don't miss the Freret Market. ”

“SEAFOOD - Crawfish is truly the star of the menu at this casual French Quarter cafe. Unique and delicious crawfish cakes, rich crawfish pasta, fried crawfish tails and, of course, perfectly-executed etouffee make this spot popular with tourists and locals alike. Additionally, the peaceful wraparound balcony is an ideal spot to people watch while sipping one of Chartres House's local brews or rave-worthy Cajun Bloody Marys.”
