Woolacombe is beautiful but sometimes it's good to explore the other little coves and Barricane is definitely worth a visit especially during peak season because the well known Sri Lanka curries are being served on the beach, all you need is a picnic blanket and remember to take your own drinks,…
If you are visiting Woolacombe, Barricane Beach is a must. It is a picturesque cove tucked between the rocks and famous for Barricane’s Café Sri Lanken curries while watching the sunset! Also a great place for little ones to go crabbing.
A lovely little cove beach just up from the large beach at Woolacombe. This is so pretty and during the summer the café there sells a fabulous curry. Take a bottle of wine, a picnic rug and just relax. Super popular with locals and visitors.
Summer only, the beach cafe on Barricane Beach does sunset curries in the evenings. These are really good and you can take you own bottle. There are only a few picnic tables so take a mat in case you have to eat on the beach or the rocks.
This a the local's beach in Woolacombe (just a 10 min drive). Sandy, full of shells & boasting a wonderful cafe. Brilliant sunsets too.

“Both pubs in the village do good food but we would recommend to book in advance, we personally prefer the food in the Rock. The Kings is also sometimes has live music. ”

“The beach at Saunton Sands is big – very big – and popular with surfers and longboarders alike, as well as the occasional film crew! Parts of the 2014 box office smash ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt were shot here.”

“Rated as one of the best fish and chip shops in North Devon and extremely popular with locals and visitors. During the summer months this place is rammed. You can't pre book a table in the restaurant so don't be surprised if you have to queue but its well worth the wait. The place is run by a local family (The Squires) and they are very professional. If you don't fancy a sit down meal, the takeaway next door is just as fabulous. You can use their click and collect service to save queuing. You cannot beat eating fish & chips on the beach watching the sunset”
