Renowned Portuguese and foreign historians have spent countless hours piecing together a life that spans over 400 years. The visit to the Museum is also a memorable, incessantly surprising experience, pass through the cellar garden planted with transplanted millenary olive trees from the Alqueva dam, or admire the tranquil scenery of the Japanese Garden, in which part of sculptor Niizuma's estate and kaki tree, the great-granddaughter of the only tree surviving the Nagasaki bomb, is exhibited.
