If you want to stretch your legs and get a feel for West County, this is one of our new favorites. We love a 2-3 hour hike called "Islands in the Sky", which you can take from a trailhead a mile or so away from Duncans Mills.

This trail goes from the Willow Creek camp ground all the way to the coast. The Miwak and the Pomo Indians used this trail and it is really a stunning hike! If you plan to take the entire hike, I recommend someone dropping a car at the other end at Shell Beach before you take off.
