The Mammoth Site is a museum and paleontological site near Hot Springs, South Dakota, in the Black Hills. It is an active paleontological excavation site at which research and excavations are continuing. Entry fee - children 3 and under are free.

A little further away than some of the other sights to be seen, you won't be disappointed if you take the time to check out the Mammoth Site. All kinds of history, fossils, and incredible information is available in this unique museum.

A museum all about the prehistory of the hills, they found an intact mammoth here! Wonderful museum that takes you back to a time when the Hills were pure and untouched.
