Walking around the Sutro Baths at Lands End is one of the nicest things to do in the city. I love the history here: Although there are only ruins left, it used to be a beautiful public saltwater-pool facility. From the baths you can roam the paths of Lands End, a breathtaking stretch of coast on the Pacific Ocean side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Wear layers—the weather out here can easily change from cold fog and drizzle to sunshine—or vice versa!

25 minute drive along the Great Highway. New visitors center, exploring ruins along the coast. Take the Lands End hike trail towards the Golden Gate Bridge. Beautiful scenic views.
