Il Bottegon and Lo Squero are located next to each other and offer a gourmet selection of "cicchetti" , the Venetian typical finger food. It’s cheap and tasty, and best accompanied by good local prosecco. From here you will be able to see the last gondola workshop in Venice right on the other side of the canal!

This tiny bacaro is one of the best places where to taste Venice street food, the so-called cicchetti, and regional wines. As it is very popular among venetians, I recommend to go right before lunch time, or you will find it overcrowded. In sunny days you should take your food and glass out and enjoy the view of one of the oldest "squeri" in Venice (squero means boatyard), right in front of you.

If you want to know Venice for its food you have to stop for a while in an "Osteria", a typical venetian bar. They serve a sort of tapas that we call "cicheti" made with seafood, sliced meat, cheese and vegetables served with fresh bread, accompanied with a glass of local wine. Our most popular wine is called prosecco, a sparkling white wine that grows in our countryside. This is a place to taste good cicheti and good wine.

This is a very nice place for an aperitif (splitz) and a toast (cichetti) with young people and seegull. Standing in the street in front of the San Trovaso square of Gondola.
