“It is the range of produce that impresses at the Spey Larder. As the name would suggest, it is the perfect place to stock up on all the deli larder basics, both continental and local - Connads cheese is a favourite, as is Ola rapeseed oil. A large selection of locally-caught fish, artisan cheeses and pâté is stocked, as well as fantastic bread. It has a good selection of local real ale and local wines, as well as wines from more far-flung destinations. Open 0900-1730 except Sunday.”

“The Station Hotel has a rich history as part of the Rothes community stretching back more than a century. In its heyday, it was the place for the rich and well-heeled to stay while travelling north to fish for salmon in the bountiful River Spey. So restoring the site to do justice to that heritage, while creating something contemporary that would act as a hub for the local community, and attract visitors from further afield was no small task.”
