Enjoy this moderate / steep climb up the mountain for an incredible view. Proper hiking shoes or sneakers will help when hiking on the dry dirt and steep trail. Careful of slippery mud during the wet season. A quick Google search will give more details about where to park and how to access this trail head.

Crouching Lion looms over Kahana Bay. This hike has amazing views, steep drop-offs, and beautiful lush surroundings. It’s located on the Northeast side of Oahu and is less populated than the other hikes around the island.

The Couching Lion Hike is my favorite one on the North Shore. You can make this hike as short or as long as you would like if you choose to continue on the loop trail after you get to the lion up top. The loop takes me about 5 hours, but just going up to the lion and back takes about 1 hour and offers amazing views of the north shore. Please do your research about this one as well as it can also be fairly dangerous.
