Kubota Garden is a stunning 20 acre landscape that blends Japanese garden concepts with native Northwest plants. The Gardens are a spectacular setting of hills and valleys, interlaced with streams, waterfalls, ponds, bridges, and rock out-croppings with a rich array of plant material.

This formerly private Japanese garden has been preserved as a park. It is especially beautiful in the spring when the trees are blooming.
Absolutely beautiful Japanese garden, definitely worth a visit. Around 15-20 mins by bus or 5 mins driving.
Beautiful & historic garden maintained in the traditional Japanese style. Free and open to the public (during daylight hours), it is worth a visit in all types of weather.
I think this is one of the best secret spots in Seattle. Full on Japanese garden. Just one hour here is all you need.

“Our favorite. Excellent breakfast/lunch cafe with fresh pastries, excellent coffee and always art on the wall! It is an entirely vegetarian cafe with plenty of vegan meals and pastries as well. ”

“I will warn you, when I ate pizza here, I have never been satisfied with anything since. Located in a historic building in southeast Seattle, across the street from Lake Washington on the corner of Rainier Ave S. The name of the pizzeria, Pulcinella (pul chee'nel la) is a character from the 17th century Italian Commedia dell'Arte that is widely recognized as the symbol of Naples. ~The Story of Pizzeria Pulcinella~ Our passion is Neapolitan Pizza Tender dough prepared with soft wheat from southern Italy Perfectly balanced Italian tomatoes Luscious, fresh mozzarella Fresh basil and extra virgin olive Baked expertly in 70 - 90 seconds in our Valoriani (Italian, of course) wood fired oven From this extraordinary but simple recipe the Pizza Margherita is created and forms the culinary palette which our expert pizzaioli create an almost endless variety of pizzas. Pulcinella has been "certified Neapolitan" by the Verace Pizza Napolitana Association since 2009.~ Ok now after Reading that, try to not go there.”

“Seward Park is one of Seattle's gems. A 2.5 mile walk around the perimeter gives the walker/runner a view of Seattle, Mercer Island and Mt Rainier. There's a great beach, a large kids play area, a pottery studio, a Nature Conservancy office and many hidden, fun paths to be explored up and through the inside of the Park. Several times a year there are 5k and 10k runs.”
