Great trip for an afternoon free. Beautiful waterfall and park! Local eatery and ice cream shop on sight.
The Falls are a great sight to behold, even in the winter! Take a hike to the bottom and you will find a couple miles of trails that follow the creek out to the Mississippi river. Cute playground at the Falls and a Seafood restaurant (Sea Salt).
One of Minneapolis' oldest and most popular parks features a majestic 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, and river overlooks, attracting more than 850,000 visitors annually.
The photo of Sea Salt Eatery. What this does not show is that there is a waterfall right in the city of Minneapolis. And a very nice park. On the light rail.
SeaSalt is open early Spring until late Fall. It's a great place to grab a beer/wine, fish taco, some gumbo and hang out on their patio. Often times, there is musical entertainment on the Falls lawn.

“This is a fantastic place to walk around the lakes, and also a wonderful place to just go to watch a sunset. You can rent out paddle boards, canoes, and additional rentals to go on the lakes, which is a nice perk in the summer!”

“This National Historic Landmark has an entertaining museum for both adults & kids. The museum store has something for history buffs, cooking connoisseurs, and everyone in between. Explore the Mississippi river front, dine at Bushel & Peck, and check out the observation deck for some of the best views in the city!”
