Charming private Vashon beach cottage. Get away from it all, unless you need it all, in which case you'd probably be happier in downtown Seattle. There's beach access and plenty of quiet at night. You can hear the water, the marine life and the birds. Vashon town is about 7 miles. Plenty of restaurants and interesting small shops. Pt. Robinson lighthouse is a short beach walk away. These pictures were taken early summer but some guests enjoy the winter.
**Note to guests: in response to COVID-19, we are now disinfecting surfaces between visits. We are also supplying disinfecting wipes for guest to use during their stay if they choose. We are keeping the space open, due to it's remote location - complying with social distancing is still easily accomplished. We recommend bringing your own food (refrigerator provided) if you would like to avoid the grocery store and restaurants.** Open to the elements, L.o.V.E. provides a unique experience with nature while staying at our boathouse on Quartermaster Harbor. Watch for seals, otters, herons, osprey diving for fish, and the occasional bald eagle perching on the pilings of the dock. Paddle around Quartermaster Harbor, and explore Judd Creek. Enjoy a glass of wine amid the water's cool breeze, all while taking in the view of Mount Rainier's snowy top. Relax in the hot tub during the evening, and observe the reflection of the moonlight on the water. It's the perfect place to unwind and adventure around the beautiful Vashon Island. Furnished boathouse at the water's edge of Quartermaster Harbor. We are located approximately 3 miles (5 minute drive) from downtown Vashon, and about 1 mile from Burton. Please note that our facilities include an outdoor shower and enclosed chemical toilet. Due to our proximity to the water, biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. Our walls are not insulated, and it is possible some sounds of nature (primarily birds) can be heard from inside. Also, in the heat of a summer's afternoon, it can get quite warm inside the boathouse. This is quickly remedied by opening both doors, and allowing a cool cross breeze - and/or keeping a window open. The space does not have central heating, and can get quite chilly in the fall and winter, and even on a cool summer’s night. A space heater is provided, but does need to be turned off while guests are away. We want to make sure your experience meets your expectations. Please consider this and other reservation details before booking. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks and hot tub. Paddles and life jackets are located on the property. It is possible to launch from both the floating dock and the shore, depending on the tide. Please use caution. Guests assume risk for all activities on the property. I love to connect with new people, but also respect desired privacy. We will let you set the tone, and are always available by phone or email. I'm happy to meet you upon check-in, but you are also welcome to arrive and check-in on your own. Vashon is a 20 minute ferry ride from Seattle and Tacoma, but feels like a world away from the hustle of the city. We hope you are able to relax, and enjoy the wonders of this beautiful island. The boathouse contains a fan for warm days, and a space heater for cool evenings.
Our place is just a few miles from the Fauntleroy/Vashon ferry terminal, and minutes from the town of Vashon. Tucked snuggly on the West side of the island, the cabin looks west over Colvos Passage. The cabin itself is essentially a spacious studio-- one large room with a loft, a small kitchen, and bathroom. A queen size bed is in the loft, and the couch comfortably sleeps one person. The bathroom has a large clawfoot soaking tub, and there is an outdoor shower. It is extremely cozy!
