Where to Eat

As a small island there aren't a lot of options but with some creativity, you can eat like never before!
The Beach Store's history is long and storied. It's been a general store, a post office and a cafe/restaurant. Always a hub of activity since the early 1900s. There's a small dining room, outdoor seating and to go orders available. Definitely worth visiting!

Not only can you pop into the Islander for any item you may have forgotten on your grocery list, but you can put together a wonderful meal! Grab a basket and find some local fish or meat, cheese for your charcuterie plate, a bottle of wine, your favorite beer or spirits. On the way home stop at one of the farm stands and take it all back to your vacation rental and enjoy the bounty. Oh, don't forget the pastries and cookies - they bake them there!

There are some great roads to walk on. The island is generally quiet but you still have to bring your road sense. Walk facing the traffic when it is safe to do so (most of the time.) Carry a flashlight in case it begins to get dark and don't use ear pods - you need to hear and see the traffic and wildlife! Enjoy!
