What is a stay in Guerneville without a day or more at the beach?!
For nearly 100 years, Johnson’s Beach has been a Guerneville summer tradition whose beauty, amenities, and hospitality make it a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike. With its spacious stretch of pebble beach and the jagged blue skyline of majestic redwoods, it is the ideal spot for camping, lounging, and playing along with the cool current of the Russian River.
New this summer is the fact that they will now require guests to make a reservation online before coming to the beach. Guests will be able to rent socially distanced ‘spots’ on the beach – and each spot comes with an umbrella. Riverfront spots are $40/day, 2nd-row spots are $25/day and ‘spots’ beyond row 2 are $15/day. Each ‘spots’ is 10′ in diameter and can accommodate up to 4 people. Additionally, each spot is distanced from the others by 6′. Guests will also be able to reserve boats (kayaks and canoes) for the day.

Kortum TrailI love this trail because its relatively easy and runs along the coastline. At one point it dips down to a private beach that has zero access to vehicles. We were there recently and had the whole beach to ourselves!

This drive starts just north of Jenner and extends 17 miles south. Most of the beaches are not dog friendly. Doran is Dog friendly, as long as you keep your pup leashed.
Stop along the way at The Tides Restaurant and pick up some of their clam chowder and french bread with butter to-go. The last time we did this the weather wasn't on our side so we ate our chowder in our car and watched the waves from our warm front seats. It was actually quite romantic! Sun or rain all of the beaches on this drive are beautiful so get out of your car and explore.

Healdsburg is a great town to visit for wine tasting, boutique shopping and the food scene is amazing.
We recommend this winery specifically if you are an art lover. The wine is excellent and their art walk is constantly being updated with amazing sculptures. One of our favorite places to take guests.

Drive up to Gueserville (about an hour's drive from Guerneville). You will be glad you did. The wine is good, the restaurant is great. For movie buff's there is a Coppola museum. The view of the restaurant from the vineyards is worth the drive alone. Oh and for a full day experience you can rent a poolside cabana... reserve early as these fill up quickly.
