Immerse yourself in the chilling dramas of historic Gastown as you venture into Vancouver's earliest and most gruesome history on this 90-minute walking tour. Follow the lamplight of your guide as you discover the terror of a Great Fire that ate up Gastown in minutes, the long forgotten plague of smallpox, and the unsolved murder of John Bray. Designed for adult audiences, the experience is both a walking tour and a theatre piece. Your guide is a professional actor, performing in character throughout. Every story is grounded in documented Vancouver history, taken from the city archives. The plot line is woven together as the tragic tale of one person's life, ending in a dramatic finale in Gastown's Maple Tree Square. Every one of Gastown's must-see sites and landmarks is visited on the walk, the oldest hotel, the Gastown Steam Clock, you’ll see how Vancouver looked before and after the Great Fire, explore notorious Gaoler's Mews, and walk down the back alleys of Water Street to famous Maple Tree Square. Hiking with Goats
A guided hike through beautiful lake and mountain scenery, hosted by Pickles and Peanut, French Alpine goat brothers! Their "parents" come too, to ensure you are guided on the less-busy but still human-accessible trails. On the two hour adventure we will: - Meet at Grafton Lake parking area next to Grafton Road. - Start with 10 minutes of intros and "Goat 101" to learn how to safely interact with Peanut and Pickles. - Walk around the lake. - Stop at viewpoints along the way, where we'll offer to take photos of you with the goats. - End back where we started. Private hike options include: - Customized trail route such as up to the lookout in our main photo, or to cool natural tree forts! - Special arrangements for a longer, more challenging hike to the summit of the iconic Mount Gardner. A few considerations: Families as well as dogs on leashes are welcome, but please note that Peanut and Pickles are still growing and learning, and their headbutt play behaviour may intimidate children and dogs. You are welcome to request dates, but these will be considered "private hikes". This adventure is "rain or shine"! The boys look adorable in their rain coats, so (pending a major storm) we'll enjoy whatever mother nature brings our way. Finally, the boys love to meet people, and they can't wait to show you their beautiful backyard!

The Craft Beer Revolution & Tasting Tour
Vancouver has a huge craft beer scene and is considered the best in Canada! Join me on a neighbourhood culture crawl among Vancouver's most interesting local breweries. Learn about the craft beer movement and the culture that surrounds it while enjoying beer tastings only available in Vancouver. We'll start with unique access to a historic local brewery to see, smell, taste and learn the basics of 4 seemingly simple ingredients that create over 100+ distinct styles of beer in the world. We'll enjoy a hand crafted beer recipe that is exactly what beer tasted like centuries ago. As we enjoy a light walk downhill to visit 2 other very different breweries in the neighbourhood, I'll explain how the craft beer subculture was recently revived and why it's quickly gaining in popularity. Our beer tastings will include stories of popular American craft beers styles of today - many of the beers we taste are small batch, meaning they're only available in the breweries we visit. No doubt we'll likely get into some healthy banter over which ones are the best. Whether you’re brand new craft beer or a veteran, you’re sure to enjoy these very local and very tasty beverages and meeting the people who make it.
