Anthony Quinn Bay, Rhodes The beach at Anthony Quinn bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on Rhodes. The waters owe their deep emerald colour to the lush green vegetation which surrounds the beach. Natural stone surfaces ideal for reclining under the sun, pine trees reaching down to the water's edge, emerald green water - Anthony Quinn certainly showed impeccable taste when he fell in love with its miniature bay. The beach is known today by the actor's name since he bought this part of the island when filming "The Guns of Navarone" here. Anthony Quinn Bay is situated on the east coast of Rhodes, about four kilometres south of Faliraki. The waters owe their deep emerald colour to the lush green vegetation which surrounds the beach. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on Rhodes. It's mostly popular with young people - especially Italians - since the sharp rocks both in and out of the water are not ideal for families with young children or elderly people. Because of it's small size, the beach gets fairly crowded during July and August. The finest spot is the rock right in the centre of the beach, with room for just a few sun beds. At the top of the rocks you will find a canteen. The crystal clear water and gorgeous underwater scenery also makes Anthony Quinn bay one of the best areas in Rhodes for snorkeling.

Anthony Quinn Bay takes its name from the renowned Hollywood actor. Quinn owned a sizable property in the area after the filming of Guns of Navarone. Diving and snorkeling out of the bay are possibilities in addition to just renting a sun bed and umbrella for the day. The beach was originally named Vagies, but it was renamed after the filming. Tips - Expect crowds in high season. - There is a mini bar with beers and sandwiches here, paid umbrellas and sunbeds. - Anthony Quinn Beach is near Faliraki and Afandou beaches as well.
