Island ETC is Galveston County's only professional repertory theatre company and stages 5 to 6 productions a year. Although many in our company were here during the infant stages of what was then called the Strand Street Theatre in the 70's, we have been operating as Island ETC (the east-end theatre company) since 2002. Our previous space was located on Postoffice Street at 20th, but Hurricane Ike devastated that location just as plans were being made to move in and take over the Strand Theatre. Through the generosity of local patrons, we re-opened in July 2009 with a re-staging of CABARET the show that put us on the map as a company. The historic Strand Theatre building is a proud and beautifully restored survivor of the Storm of 1900 and Hurricane Ike. We are located across from the historic Tremont Hotel on Mechanic Street

Galvestons repertory theater has 5-6 different productions every year. An intimate theater and excellent prices. They also have weeknight performances and it makes for a great date night. If you are looking to support local arts and have a great time then definitely check out their website for their current and upcoming shows.
