Tripiti Chania: One of the most secluded beaches in Crete, Tripiti is located close to the tourist village of Sougia and at the end of Tripiti Gorge. Accessed on foot, by boat or through a track road, this beach is not organized and no tourist facilities in close distance. About 70 km south of Chania Town, this beach is worth a visit for its unspoilt beauty and crystalline waters. It is one of the places that is much preferred by the nature lovers. The closest facilities and accommodation are found in Sougia, Paleochora and Agia Roumeli. Tripiti has soft sand and clean water. The surrounding nature is wild and provides the perfect setting for total privacy.

Tripiti is a 400m long beach on the southern Asterousia coastline. The beach took its name after the church of Panagia Tripiti which is built inside a cave at the base of the gorge.A quiet beach, covered with fine pebbles and sand and clean dark green waters. The rocks around Trypiti are full of small caverns(holes)thus the name Trypiti which means the one with the holes.Near the beach there are a few tamarisk trees several meters away from the shore, under which you can camp.Tripití is very popular with locals and in the hot summer weekends it can be overcrowded. Especially in August,it gathers quite a lot people for such a secluded beach.Unlike other coastal places there are only a few buildings, mostly huts since the area belongs to the Natura network and there are restrictions in the use of land .There are however a lot of caravans that seem to be there on a permanent basis.Of course camping is prohibited and only one caravan can be hosted in each land property! Anyway there is plenty of room even in the shade of the tamarisks and the sea is very nice. There are two taverns but no umbrellas and sunbeds.
