Looking for great coffee, pastries and a gift in a quirky setting? Head to Century General Store. You’ll find some lovely stationary and ceramics too. If you are walking round to Arthur’s Seat or the Palace it’s on the way.

Brunch is served every day here until 1pm. Menu includes vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan options, with daily specials. I recently tried the french toast with yoghurt, fruit compote and honey. Lovely! Prices range from £3.90 for granola, yogurt and fruit to £10 for smashed avocado with hot smoked salmon. Also sells cool gifts, independent magazines and house plants. Dog friendly

A great place to pop by and enjoy a coffee and cake. They have a shop with homeware and plant and often hold makers markets and other events at the weekends. They also have a pop up burger byob or takeaway at the weekend.

The Century General Store is a shop and cafe that sells coffee, cake, pastries, bread and stylish homeware. Locally produced items are on sale in the store alongside gifts, accessories, kitchenware and utility items. Products are picked with quality and longevity in mind and are just pining to be taken home and enjoyed. There’s also an upstairs community space used for a variety of events including workshops, dance lessons and yoga. Its only a two minute walk from the Airbnb.
