The Scrovegni Chapel, a masterpiece in the history of painting in Italy and Europe in the 14th century that is considered to be the most complete series of frescoes executed by Giotto, who completed the frescoes in the Chapel at the beginning of 1305.

Padua's version of the Sistine Chapel, the Cappella degli Scrovegni houses one of Italy's great Renaissance masterpieces – a striking cycle of Giotto frescoes. UNESCO World Heritage Site Padua’s 14th-century fresco cycles, within the historic walled city of Padua, were painted between 1302 and 1397. They include Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel fresco cycle, considered to have marked the beginning of a revolutionary development in the history of mural painting.
