Hawaii is the only state in the nation that grows coffee, and there's a plantation about 15 minutes outside of Poipu. If you're going to buy bags of coffee, keep it out of your carry on as TSA will have to rifle through your bag to check it. Lion coffee on the Big Island is probably about as good as it gets, but coffee fanatics will love the plantation for the tastings and history.

Visit the Kauai Coffee Company, do a self guided walking tour of the grounds to see how they grow and make their coffee. Then enjoy samples of various flavors of their delicious coffee. Their store sells the coffee as well as t-shirts, jams and just about anything that you can imagine made with coffee or Hawaiian themed. Good place to buy souvenirs.
