This quaint bay-side village is my favourite little town on the Peninsula. Quieter and less developed than Tobermory, it is no less beautiful with a waterfront beach and swimming area with a view like no other. Be sure to stop at Garden in Thyme on the road in from Highway 6 for some market produce and baked goods! While in town, check out the Dandy Lion Gift Shop and eat a nice meal at the Lion's Head Inn a few steps from the beach or Rachel's Cafe on the Main Street! If hiking is your jam, you can catch a shuttle to the end of Moore Street where you can hike out atop the official "lion's head" and escarpment cliffs and down to the water. This is a trail that takes you out and back. Be sure to follow the blazes, wear appropriate footwear, take snacks and water, and return before dark. This trail is rugged, and takes a number of hours out and back, but the views are unparalleled! Fuel The only fuel is available in Ferndale, on the highway west of Lion's Head, or fill up before leaving Wiarton. There are more and more EV stations popping up all of the time! Parking Expect to pay, but it is worth it and parking fees support upgrades around town. There is a large lot at the Community Centre, which is a short and picturesque walk to downtown and the beach. Restrooms Some businesses allow visitors to use their washrooms. There is a public facility down at the waterfront. The community centre may also be open for this use as parking is now directed there.

Lovely port with marina. 45 minutes north of us. Great local pub restaurant. Local shopping. Access the Bruce Trail and walk to the Lion's Head Lookout (wear hiking shoes as there is rough terrain).

This is the city close to the cottage (about 20 min drive) where you have many grocery stores and restaurants. Also you can connect with the Bruce trail from this city. You can go for a drive around the lake with beautiful scenic view.

A peaceful port village, located on the shores of Isthmus bay. Surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs which, when viewed from Georgian Bay, resemble the head of a lion, giving Lion's Head it's name. Fun Fact: Lion's Head is located at the 45th parallel, exactly halfway between the equator and the north pole. Bayside Astronomy has a free program on Friday and Saturday night's throughout July & August at the Peninsula Observatory Deck (next to the Marina). The Bruce Peninsula, a dark sky community, has some of the darkest skies in southern Ontario allowing you to see the Milky Way blanket the sky. If Friday and Saturdays don't work, their celestial tours runs on other dates in the Bruce Peninsula. Check the About section on their Facebook page (Bayside Astronomy) for more details. Just a short drive away from this AirBnB location sits Lion's Head, Situated in a secret nook on the famous Bruce Peninsula, Lions Head is a little town perfect for people looking to forget about the rest of the world. Filled with beautiful sceneries, local restaurants, and cute little shops.
