Note that this mountain pass is closed all winter so you can only drive up from the South - In the summer there are great views from here which was the highest point on the 2015 Tour De France - The refuge here serves great food.

The path along the ridge is part of GR56 - not for the faint hearted! The Refuge Restaurant just over the Col does an excellent charcuterie platter - you can sit by the log fire inside on cooler days or on the sunny terrace in summer.

l’accès à Barcelonnette est de possible apr la route du col d'Allos ; ville pleine d’histoire ,connue entre autre pour ses belles « villas mexicaines « construites par les enfants du pays revenus au bercail . Refuge au sommet ( bar-restauration) et randonnées à partir du col
