The San Rizzo Hills are pleasant hills that rise gently from the sea and dominate the city of Messina. They are part of the Peloritani mountain range and are located in their eastern portion. The reliefs are on average between 800 and 1000 meters high, up to 1130 meters at the summit of Dinnammare. From the lookout in front of the Sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna of the same name, you can enjoy a wonderful view that ranges from Capo Peloro to the province of Catania, but above all of Messina with its characteristic sickle-shaped port and the Strait. Looking out from the opposite side, however, you can see the Aeolian Islands, the sanctuary of Tindari, the promontory of Milazzo and towards the south the summit of Etna. Not far from the city center it is therefore possible to find yourself in an oasis of greenery and pure air where you can spend days immersed in the luxuriant nature, for a picnic or even just for a walk in the woods. There are several equipped areas where you can stop, one above all is that of Musolino on the road that leads to the Sanctuary of Dinnammare.
