The Rheidol hydropower plant is the largest of its kind in England and Wales. Since 1962, the scheme has generated renewable energy by using the rainwater that falls on the surrounding mountains. We invite you to learn and explore more about Pure Energy and Statkraft. Rheidol Visitor Centre provides an historical film and interactive displays about the Rheidol Hydro scheme and other renewable energy generation across Statkraft. The centre offers a café serving light refreshments and an outdoor space to absorb the fantastic views of the Rheidol valley and reservoir.
