If you visit the Mat Su Valley in late summer a trip to the Alaska State Fair will not disappoint! You can take in the largest vegetables you will EVER see in your lifetime. You can eat chocolate covered bacon and all the other fair nom nom you can muster. It's a good time with great views!

This happens in the Fall and it is small town, Alaska fun. That being said it attracts over a hundred thousand people a year. If you are lucky enough to be in Alaska during the Fair—go.

The Alaska State Fair Grounds is home to the Alaska State Fair during the last 2 weeks of August. The Fair Grounds also host numerous events throughout the year including horse and dog shows.
