Learn some of the history of Indonesia here - National History Museum, Hall of Independence, Observation Deck and Flame of Independence. Monas is also where thousands of people gather to celebrate Indonesian Independence Day. You can go up the observation tower to enjoy the view. You will need to purchase a ticket to go up. Ticket can be purchased onsite. It is best to go early, preferably arriving before 08.00 am, and proceed directly to the lift to the observation tower. The lift has a capacity of perhaps 160 people per hour so long queues build up quickly. The other parts of the monument, including the dioramas in the hall below the Monas, can be viewed later. Note: Please check opening hours before you go. The last time I checked, the monument and the museum are open daily from 08.00 until 16.00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) throughout the week except for the Mondays when the monument is closed. Since April 2016, the monument also opens during night time, from 19.00 until 22.00 in Tuesday to Friday, and from 19.00 until 00.00 in Saturday and Sunday.

This is the landmark Jakarta, big place you should bring your umbrella, and you can ride “delman” horse transportation for tourist here

you could go to the top of the monument (additional price if im not mistaken) 433 ft above the ground. The place are usually very crowded on weekends.
