This fabulous tea shop is located just 2 locks down upstream towards Chelmsford. About a 30 min walk along the tow path - alternatively you can drive, plenty of parking charged at £5 per day. Great selection of cakes and afternoon tea while you dine right alongside the canal.

This little tearoom is next to the river with lovely walks or paddleboarding from the cafe. You can paddle here from Hoe Mill Lock in an hour or so.
