One of Alexander Valley's most sought-after labels, but still small-batch and family-owned. Their single vineyard cabs are not to be missed. Jake Hawkes and his wife Laura just launched a second label, Carpenter, that is equally impressive - call for appointment-only Carpenter tastings at their studio off of Chalk Hill.

Great Sonoma Cabs. Off the beaten track a bit, but on the way to Healdsburg. There is another tasting room right off of the square in Sonoma. Lovely wine - try it!

Not to be missed, Hawke's is friendly and they make very good wine.
