A famous, scenic lighthouse with great views of the lake. Best viewing location is from the state park.

If you drive west on Southshore Drive, you will reach an area that you can park just about 1 1/2 miles from our retreat. From there you can walk to the Light house. It is an easy and pleasant and very beautiful walk. I know during the warm months, there is a guard at the entrance to the walk. If you are out of state, you can make that walk any day of the week. If you are in state, the limit it, I think to Tues and Thurs until dusk. You may want to check ahead just to be sure. There are a few spots inside to park, but only about 5 of them, but, it is worth a try. Also, you could easily ride the bikes we provide and leave them at the guard shack.

If you have the time, check out Lake Michigan! Holland, MI (approx 1 hour drive) is the closest beach and includes a lighthouse, pier, and shopping in town.
