Belmont Regional Park has some great walks and is a short drive away. There are awesome views over the city and harbour on a clear day.

There are a number of walks through Belmont Regional Park. My favourite is the Puke Ariki/ Haywards Korokoro Traverse - a full day's walk. Great views of the Hutt Valley, Porirua and Wellington.

Accessible from Maungaraki Rd / Oakleigh St off Dowse Drive in neighbourkng Maungaraki (10 mins walk), and leads to the Korokoro dam and various tracks.
