Toritama Honkan

The two Toritama yakitori restaurants are only about 50 meters apart. The original, Honkan, is much more like an izakaya, while the annex location is a stylish place with black countertops and such. Pick the one you like—the food is the same—or go with the one that has open seats. They both have an excellent variety of grilled chicken to choose from. On one skewer there will be different levels of salt. On the tip, they salt a little bit heavier in order for the first bite to have a greater impact, and then as you move down the stick to the base the bites ease off on the salt so as not to overwhelm. Try not to take the chicken off the skewer here!
